Google Veo 3.1 pricing: API rates, plans and calculator

Google Veo pricing checked September 28, 2026: Veo 3.1 API rates from $0.05 to $0.60 per output second, a monthly cost calculator, and what Google AI Plus, Pro and Ultra plans actually include.

Pricing paths

Pay-as-you-go API

The direct Veo path. Gemini API rates include audio and bill by output second: Standard $0.40/s (720p/1080p, $0.60 at 4K), Fast $0.10–$0.30/s, Lite $0.05–$0.08/s with no 4K.

Consumer plans

Google AI Plus ($4.99/mo), Pro ($19.99/mo) and Ultra (from $99.99/mo) include Flow credits — 200, 1,000 and 10,000–25,000 per month. Flow’s included video model is Gemini Omni Flash, not Veo.

Where Veo appears in plans

Google’s plans page lists Veo 3 photo-to-video in Google Photos for Pro and Ultra in the US. For Veo 3.1 tiers, 4K and API workflows, the per-second API rate is the real Veo price.

Veo API pricing by tier and resolution

Checked Gemini API list prices. Audio is included in the per-second rate and Google states you are billed only when a video actually generates; clips run 4, 6 or 8 seconds, with 8 seconds required for 1080p, 4K, extension and reference images.

Which Veo tier for which job

Monthly estimates use the checked list prices with 8-second clips — the length 1080p and 4K require — and exclude taxes.

Use caseRecommended setupEstimated monthly costWhy this tier
Drafts and iterationVeo 3.1 Fast · 720p$8–24 (10–30 clips)Native audio at $0.10/s keeps iteration cheap before you commit to a final render
Client deliverablesVeo 3.1 Standard · 1080p$32–96 (10–30 clips)Top non-4K quality at $0.40/s; 8-second clips are required at this resolution
4K hero shotsVeo 3.1 Standard · 4K$48–144 (10–30 clips)4K bills at $0.60/s and only renders 8-second clips
Bulk social volumeVeo 3.1 Lite · 720p$4–12 (10–30 clips)The lowest checked rate at $0.05/s; no 4K, which feed content rarely needs

Four ways to keep Veo costs down

  1. Draft on Fast or Lite, finish on Standard

Iterating at $0.05–$0.12 per second and reserving the $0.40 Standard tier (or $0.60 4K) for final renders cuts the same volume’s bill by 4–12×.

  2. Use 4- or 6-second 720p clips while iterating

1080p and 4K force 8-second renders, so short 720p drafts avoid paying for seconds you throw away.

  3. Failed generations do not bill

Google states you are billed only when a video actually generates, so a failed render costs $0 at list price.

  4. Skip Flow credits if you want Veo

Google AI plans buy Flow credits that run Gemini Omni Flash, not Veo — the per-second API rate is the only Veo 3.1 path.

Pricing FAQ

How much does Veo 3.1 cost?
Per output second on the Gemini API, audio included: Standard $0.40 at 720p and 1080p ($0.60 at 4K), Fast $0.10–$0.30 by resolution, Lite $0.05–$0.08 with no 4K. Google states you are billed only when a video actually generates.
Is Veo 3 included with Google AI Pro or Ultra?
Not as the Flow video model. Google’s plans page lists Gemini Omni Flash as the video model your Flow credits run at every tier, from Plus (200 credits) to Ultra 20x (25,000 credits). Veo 3 appears only as Google Photos photo-to-video for Pro and Ultra in the US. For direct Veo 3.1 access — every tier, 4K, API workflows — you pay the per-second API rates.
How much is Veo per month?
Consumer plans run $4.99/mo (Google AI Plus, 200 Flow credits), $19.99/mo (Pro, 1,000) and from $99.99/mo (Ultra 5x, 10,000; a 20x tier with 25,000 credits costs more) — but none of those credits convert into Veo minutes. The honest monthly math for Veo is API volume: 30 Fast 720p clips of 8 seconds cost about $24 at list price.
Is there a free Veo 3.1 tier?
No. Veo has no free tier on the Gemini API, and Google states you are billed only when a video actually generates. The cheapest checked rate is Veo 3.1 Lite at $0.05 per output second, so an 8-second 720p clip costs $0.40 at list price.
