About
Vidirect is an independent directory of AI video generation tools and models. It tracks what each product runs, what it costs, which APIs it exposes, and how the output actually compares when two models answer the same prompt.
What we track
- Tools — the products you can sign up for: what they run, pricing notes, and API availability.
- Models — model families and their current versions, each page keeping its own parameters, pricing scope, and primary sources.
- Arena — head-to-head pages where two models answer the same prompts side by side.
How records are built
Every model and tool record is source-backed: parameters, pricing and access claims link the primary source they came from. Pricing here is a note about what a source said on a given date, not a live quote. Records carry a data status, and draft entries never reach the listings or the sitemap.
How Arena matchups are measured
A matchup page is exactly two models on one URL. Published pairings run shared prompts through both models and show weighted human-preference votes per prompt. Pairings that are still being run are labeled as planned, and pages built only from showcase clips say so — they never present a preference result that was not measured.
Independence
Listing order is not for sale and no placement is sponsored. If a claim has no source, it does not ship.
